I am driving into orientation, not flying. What should I do?
If you are driving to orientation, please reach out to internships@blattnercompany.com to receive instructions on when you should plan to arrive in the greater St. Cloud area. Unless you are local to the St. Cloud area, you are expected to stay at the same hotel as the other interns.

- Composite safety toe boots that cover your ankles.
- Jacket, raingear, and warmer clothes in the morning (it can get cold in the morning at some locations).
- Work clothes (clothing for working in the field/site). No tank tops or shorts allowed.

Jobsite Assignments
When will I know what site I’m assigned? Where am I going for the summer?
Can I pick where I want to go? Where are the projects located?
I just received my site assignment and it’s not where I want to go. Is there anything that can be done?
Housing, Expenses & Bonus
What will be my housing options this summer?
Once the job site assignments are released, you will be able to contact the site leadership. The Project Construction Coordinator (PCC) should provide you with options that are approved by their site. Do not sign a lease or agreement unless you have gotten permission from the PCC and/or Site Manager.
What expenses are covered during the summer?
- Interns will be expected to cover the expenses up front and submit an expense report for reimbursement.
- Interns will be reimbursed for the following:
- Mileage for a one-time round trip to the jobsite at the beginning of the summer and back home at the end of the summer (equal to the current federal reimbursement rate).
- Company-approved housing, including water, sewer, heat, garbage, and electric.
- $30/month for personal cellphone use.
- There will be a company vehicle onsite for the interns to use; however, they will be responsible for driving back and forth to the jobsite each day.
- Interns will also receive a $2,500.00 bonus (subject to taxes) following intern orientation. This is to assist with expenses incurred throughout the internship.
What is the process for finding housing during the summer?
Prior to signing any leases or agreements, interns must reach out to the site leadership to receive the approved housing allowance. Site leaders may also have suggestions for places to stay during the internship.
When can I expect the bonus to be deposited in my account?
Bonuses will be distributed to bank accounts via mobile deposit the Friday following orientation. For returning interns, we will begin processing your bonus once we've confirmed you have showed up to the jobsite.
