Blattner Energy

The state of Colorado's largest wind energy center.

This 600-megawatt wind farm constructed by Blattner in eastern Colorado near the town of Limon, 80 miles east of Denver, became the largest wind facility in Colorado when it came into service in 2014.

Constructed in three phases, the 368-turbine project extends across more than 104,000 acres. Blattner also installed transmission lines of more than 55 miles and 273 miles of collection system, as well as two new substations.

Achievements: Overcoming challenges.

As EPC contractor, Blattner completed all phases safely and ahead of schedule despite challenges including:

  • collection system re-route
  • one month accelerated C.O.D. request

Colorado's largest wind energy facility to date.

Completed in three phases.

Covers more than 104,000 acres.
